Lupita Nyongo has a long list of impressive awards , accolades and endorsements to her name, but her latest honor is particularly awesome.

On Tuesday, Congressman Charles Rangel and Voza Rivers, Chairman of the Harlem Arts Alliance , announced that October 20 is officially Lupita Nyongo Day in Harlem, New York. The honor was announced as a surprise during an open discussion between Nyong'o and image activist Michaela Angela Davis at Mist Harlem , a restaurant located in the popular and predominantly black neighborhood.

Immediately after the event, Nyongo posted a video on Instagram to share her appreciation. My heart is swollen with the love and welcome I just received from the Harlem Community, she wrote.
