Syrian national Ibrahim Al-Hussein had always dreamed of competing in the Olympics, when four years ago the swimmer was hit by a bomb and lost part of his right leg. But the 27-year-old hasn't let the war halt his dreams of partaking in the games.

On Tuesday, Al-Hussein, who arrived on the Greek island of Samos in 2014 after crossing the Aegean Sea in a rubber dinghy, will carry the Olympic torch in Athens as part of the torch relay for the 2016 Rio Games.

One of millions of Syrian refugees born out of the current crisis, Al-Hussein is also an avid wheelchair basketball player, and an all-around inspiration.
