Jared Leto has taken gift-giving to a gross new level.

According to E!, the actor decided to send his "Suicide Squad" castmates some presents to make up for his frequent absences during the film's early prep. But chocolates and drinks these gifts were not.

Actor Adam Beach, who stars in the upcoming superhero flick, spoke to E! about the Joker's gift-giving at the premiere of "Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser."

"He sent [Margot Robbie] a nice love letter with a black box with a rat in it -- a live rat," he said. "It was beautiful. Then he sent bullets to Will [Smith] with a letter."

We're not so sure we'd ever use the word "beautiful" to describe a rat, but to each his own, we guess?

The gifts didn't stop there. Apparently the cast also received a video and a dead hog .

"Basically, what he said was, Guys, I can't be there but I want you to know I'm doing my work as hard as you guys, Beach told E!. The video he showed is in character. It blew our minds away. Then we realized that day, this is real.

It doesn't get more real than a live rat and dead hog, does it?
