Designer Alan Siegel has not been shy to admit that a photo of basketball legend Jerry West inspired his iconic NBA logo, even if the National Basketball Association has never officially done so.

Since the logo was designed in 1969, the former NBA star's famous silhouette has become a part of West's legacy. Sports fans have even crowned him "The Logo," in reference to his immortalized status as the emblem of the NBA -- but is there anyone else he'd like to see emblazoned on the image one day in the future?

In a conversation with HuffPost Live on Monday, West revealed that there's a former Chicago Bulls shooting guard that could fit the bill.

I hate to say its not a Laker, but Michael Jordan. Hes been the greatest player Ive ever seen," West told host Jordan Schultz . "And Im probably a harsh judge of talent in the sense that I admire players that are really good defensive players and really good offensive players. And I felt that at his time in the game, he was the best defensive player in the game, but more importantly he was the best offensive player. And he made his teams win.
