Julio Urias Channels 'The Matrix' In Slow-Mo Of His 'Slurve' Pitch

Julio Urias of the Los Angeles Dodgers threw a pitch Thursday that appeared to be digitally altered. (Watch the video below.)

But unfortunately for the Oakland As JJ Bleday , it was real. Good thing he froze, because trying to make contact with the pitch might have proved embarrassing.

Due in part to a hamstring injury , Urias win frequency has dipped and his ERA has risen this season after posting a 20-3 record in 2021 and a National League-leading ERA (2.16) in 2022.

But he still has the stuff in him, as Pitching Ninja showed in a slow-motion of his slurve (hybrid of a slider and curveball).
