Yesterday we received the amazing news that the Duchess of Cambridge shops at thrift stores , but today, Catherine made rounds with the queen in an outfit purchased new from her favorite store.

As part of Her Majesty's Diamond Jubilee tour , the queen has been traveling around England making appearances, and today she brought Catherine along for a trip to Leicester.

And the duchess stuck to a classic ensemble, Grazia reports, wearing LK Bennett's Jude jacket in teal worn over LK Bennett's knee-length Davina dress in the same color and a James Lock hat. She finished the outfit with nude tights (obvi) and black Episode heels.

But Kate isn't completely ignoring the trends. She cinched the belt to give the jacket a peplum look, which, as we saw at the 2012 Oscars , is totally hot right now.

Catherine stopped at Leicester to meet with students who entered a footwear competition at De Montfort University . The winning shoe designer will be chosen by Catherine herself. We can't wait -- although, when the 'Today' show featured a clip on the contest this morning, one student had apparently designed a pair of clogs for the duchess.

Not that the queen was anything of a style slouch herself, looking festive in a black and pink ensemble with matching hat.
