Spending Valentine's Day solo has got to be a bummer for a bona fide princess, right?

But even with Prince Williams away on a six-week deployment in the Falkland Islands with the Royal Air Force, the Duchess of Cambridge didn't waste time sulking inside while eating bon-bons (which is maybe what we would've done). Instead, Kate focused on doing good on her first royal Valentine's Day, visiting numerous charities around Liverpool on Tuesday.

The Duchess visited The Brink, an alcohol-free bar for recovering addicts, which christened a smoothie 'The Duchess' in her honor. She's also making an appearance at Alder Hey children's hospital, where she'll be spending time with cancer patients.

Kate bundled up in a sleek brown coat (costing 329-pounds) from Hobbs , black tights and what appears to be the same black pumps she wore last week to visit the Royal Portrait Gallery. Her accessories? A black clutch and her famous sapphire and diamond engagement ring.

And Kate apparently didn't go home empty-handed on her romantic day: a fan brought her a special Valentine's Day cupcake.

Check out Kate making only her second official solo appearance below!
