UPDATE: A spokesperson for the NFL has denied claims that Lady Gaga is not allowed to talk politics at the Super Bowl halftime show in an email to The Huffington Post.

A rep told TMZ that any claims are just a distraction.

Lady Gaga is focused on putting together an amazing show for fans and we love working with her on it; we arent going to be distracted by this.

A new report from Entertainment Tonight quoting an unnamed source claims Lady Gaga has been told to stay silent when it comes to political discourse during the upcoming Halftime Show.

Lady Gaga was told by the NFL that she cannot say anything or bring anything up about the election, or mention Donald Trump , a source close to the show told ET.

Reps for both Gaga were not immediately available for comment.
