If you live in a major metropolitan area in the U.S., chances are your city is predominantly Catholic, religiously unaffiliated or both.

Out of 30 major metro areas analyzed by the Public Religion Research Institute in 2014, all but nine have Catholicism and the religiously unaffiliated in the top two largest religious groups. The religiously unaffiliated are among the top three faith-related groups in each of the cities included in the PRRIs report.
