The honeymoon phase is starting to sour quickly on Love Is Blind Season 7.

Episode 7 of the Netflix series picks up with the couples continuing their vacation. Alex and Tim arent the only ones trying to pick up the pieces from their Cabo fallout, as Stephen seems to annoy Monica at every turn.

Differing values, scandalous secrets and big decisions test their relationships as the six couples continue their speedy engagement in the real world. Viewers find out or confirm, thanks to social media that Tylers promises are too good to be true when he (sort of) reveals to Ashley that he has three kids after asking for her fathers blessing. Hannah questions Nicks maturity while her family calls out her harsh approach. And Marissa and Ramses chemistry may not be enough to overcome their differing views on military birth control.

These three latest episodes leave plenty to talk about, and we get into the good, bad and ugly of it all below. Stay tuned for updates.

I really have a bone to pick with the Love Is Blind producers this season because why do they keep leaving us viewers in the dark on purpose? First, they never explain why Alex and Tim had such a huge fight that he didnt even want to sleep in their hotel room during their honeymoon. Then, it takes halfway through the scene with Stephen getting confronted by Monica for us to learn what he did to betray her. And then they start Tylers shocking reveal with him and Ashley talking in circles about why their superpower isnt their superpower anymore.

It feels like theyre deliberately being misleading with these huge moments to have us on the edge of our seats until the reunion, where well hopefully get all the answers weve been waiting for. I just dont get the strategy. Njera

It may work for other shows, but this style of dropping viewers directly into the middle of conflict without giving proper context first is annoying and confusing. I dont feel like previous seasons did this as much. I dont know what to attribute the change to, but hopefully we at least find out a bit more about the many revelations happening this season during the reunion. But knowing how previous reunions have gone, I wont hold my breath. Taryn

Totally agree Njera, and the strategy just makes me feel like producers of this show just think its audience is dumb. Were not. Your editing is purposely vague, and you want to spur fans to sleuth and complain online so that the show gets more media attention. And I know for a fact that if they are saving the whole story for the reunion, its not going to be unpacked well. Its going to be equally messy and nonsensical, squeezed between promos for other Netflix reality shows. Elyse

Tyler and Ashley have been talking about having kids every damn day since Cabo. Hell, they probably talked about it in the pods, Im sure. So failing to mention that you already have three offsprings running around the DMV is diabolical. And to tell Ashley that theyre surrogates meanwhile social media is clocking that theyre actually your kids that you have with your baby mama, whom you did a whole outfit coordinated photoshoot with. Tyler is the kind of man you read about on Six Brown Chicks.

I hate this for Ashley so much. And I hate that I was somewhat bamboozled, too. I knew there was more to that youll hear bad stuff about me comment he made in Cabo, but this is too much. I need Ashley to leave ASAP. This man is a liar, a manipulator and a deadbeat. We were rooting for yall and you just had to ruin it, Tyler! Taryn

WE LITERALLY WERE ALL ROOTING FOR YOU, TYLER. I shouldve known picking this couple as my favorite wouldnt age well knowing how this show operates. That comment he made in Cabo was very bold to say knowing he was hiding all these damn skeletons. Revealing this secret like he was a sperm donor and not a deadbeat with three kids is INSANE, even for Love Is Blind. Were seven seasons in, so folks should be hip to the shows detective fanbase by now. If you dont want your dirty laundry to get aired out on social media before you get a chance to speak on it, be upfront in the pods! Or just don't come on the show at all because sitting on this secret when we have watched Tyler and Ashley discuss having kids *multiple* times throughout the season is just evil.

Ashley doesnt deserve this. And its a shame because the one Black woman I thought had a real chance at finding love this season got utterly embarrassed and is still being lied to. I hope he gets molly-whopped for coming on the show posing as someone ready for marriage and (more) kids when he cant even be honest with the woman he swears hes going to marry. Just shameful. Njera

Ooof, I did not know about the alleged mother of Tylers kids spilling the beans on social media! So, Tyler actually fathered these babies with the same woman and has relatively close relationships with them? What does he think sperm donation is? Just sex? Thats wild!

Due to the shows TERRIBLE EDITING I was very confused as to what the issue was between these two when the sperm donor scene started. I also initially felt like Ashley was overreacting to him donating sperm to a sperm bank or something. Then I was under the assumption that maybe he helped out a couple he knew that were struggling to conceive. But none of this is true. Hes just a Nick Cannon in the making.

Do better Love is Blind dont make these important scenes so vague so you have fodder to talk about on your reunion specials.

And also, yes, Ashley needs to run, and I feel terrible, because just like you and likely a lot of shows fans we were all rooting for these two. This sucks. Elyse

I had the same impression at first, Elyse! Before he got exposed, I thought him being a sperm donor was something they could work past because he made it seem like not a big deal. But knowing what we know now, he played right in her face. Njera

I HATED the conversation between Marissa and Ramses about birth control. I firmly believe that Marissa has every right not to be on birth control if she doesnt want to be, and told Ramses that if hes so concerned about not getting her pregnant he could use condoms. I also get that she doesnt want to be on birth control because she wants to have kids, and being on it would be a betrayal of her own desire in lieu of his.

And then Ramses complaining about how condoms dont feel good, was, folks, I dont know, I cant even articulate it, but the closest I can come up with is manipulative, sexist and controlling. Sex produces babies, and thats the risk you take if you dont want to use protection. And you cant just expect a woman to take sole responsibility for an action both of yall engage in. You cant have your cake and eat it too, Ramses. Sorry. Elyse

I agree, 100%. That conversation felt like Ramses was putting all the pressure on Marissa for his own selfish wants. In the year 2024, we should not still be sticking with the logic that condoms dont feel good to men, therefore the responsibility of birth control should lie solely on the woman who also has to carry a baby if they conceive. Thats just not reasonable.

Its kind of wild that they waited until after theyve seemingly had copious amounts of sex to talk birth control. Im glad Marissa pushed back and said shes not going on birth control, but I hope that doesnt land them in a situation neither of them wants because Ramses is against condom sex. Njera

I really want to give Alex grace for the mess in her apartment, but as a neat freak, that was wayyyyy too much to ignore. They could barely walk through the place without running into piles of clothes everywhere! I dont know if Alex didnt have time to clean up before bringing Tim over there, or just wanted him to see how messy she can get to manage expectations, but I would not want that to be on national television. It definitely gives hoarder, but I hope she actually gets rid of those trash bags full of clothes because aint no way Tim will bring all that into his house if they decide to move in together. Njera

When Alex informed Tim at his home that he may not have enough room in his closet for all her clothes, she was not kidding whatsoever. As someone who has hoarders in their family, and has had to clean out entire homes because of this issue, I feel for Alex, but WOAH. If she isnt a full-blown hoarder, shes firmly on the pathway. A part of me even thinks that this was her version of cleaning before she left for the show, and it was initially much worse.

When she showed off her garbage bags filled with items and then informed Tim that she was planning to donate some, sell some and THEN GO THROUGH A FEW OF THE BAGS to make sure she wanted to give those items away, it felt performative. Like she was really saying Im going to go through all of these bags, and keep most of this stuff because I have sentimental attachments toward them. And when she sat on her couch and said that although shes living in a mess, she feels so comfortable in it and could just go to sleep on her sofa, my skin literally crawled. It also signified to me that she has no intention of changing this about her.

I wonder if a lot of Alexs judgment toward Tim previously was masking an insecurity that she lives like this. I have no idea, but I do have to say that Tim handled that situation pretty well and didnt pass any judgment. So, good on him, I guess? Or maybe hes just scared to confront her about it. Elyse

Lets be real, Marissas mom is not rooting for this relationship whatsoever. You can tell she doesnt care too much for the experiment or even if Marissa and Ramses get/stay married. The way she was so cutthroat during that conversation, its clear the only thing she was interested in getting to the bottom of was the prenup, which felt a little odd considering she said herself that Marissa doesnt have a lot of money to worry about right now, so I wonder why that was her main concern over whether or not this man is a good fit for her daughter all around. Whatever shes dealt with with men in the past felt like she completely projected it onto that meeting with Ramses. I feel like Marissa is going to take that into account heavily before they get to their wedding day. Njera

Marissas mom is jaded. She projected a lot of her own failed marriage onto Marissa and Ramses relationship. And even though I didnt like her moms approach, I do think Marissa and Ramses need to interrogate the possibility of their marriage not working. Shes clearly a scorned former military lady whos trying to look out for her daughter, but I think her approach might make Marissa want to prove her wrong instead of look at the bigger picture.

I dont think a prenup is a bad idea, but I do think they have way more things higher on the priority list that they and Marissas mom need to talk about. Taryn

I agree. Marissas mom came off like someone who dealt with a terrible divorce and is still reeling from it. I also have never heard someone use the word fuck so many times in front of their own children. A part of me wonders if she signed a prenup and it ultimately fucked her over? And this is why shes so hellbent on protecting her daughter with the same document.

I also agree that she took zero time to get to know Ramses at all, and if she had, she may have noticed that theres no need for a prenup because these two are not it. Elyse

I totally get why Taylors parents dont want to be on camera I wouldnt want to be either! I dont think thats indicative of them not trusting their daughters judgment and more about not wanting cameras invading their personal space and sensationalizing producers editing them in weird ways. I am glad the two are taking a trip to San Diego to meet them, and leaving the cameras behind. But, who knows? Without the cameras there, they may rip into Garrett, and his hesitations about moving to San Diego may become more pronounced. Fingers crossed for these two cuties! Elyse

Taylors parents not wanting to be on camera has me wondering how the rest of the cast and past contestants have explained the concept of going on Love Is Blind to their families. Im not surprised theyre unwilling to be on the show. The experiment itself is a lot to take in, especially if youve never seen it. Even the way Alex told Tim not to mention the proposal and how it happened to her dad sounds like they dont get a chance to get their families up to speed before filming takes off. Njera

This is another reason why Hannah and Nick shouldnt be together because their not-so-playful jokes about each other say theyre slowly starting to resent one another. Hannah, because Nick doesnt know/do everything she thinks he should, and Nick, because hes tired of being chastised. I dont even see the love they claim to have for one another anymore. They should save us all some time and just call it quits already. Njera

Im glad Nick isnt just letting Hannah walk all over him. But clearly she isnt. When her brother visited them, he called Hannah out on dishing out insults but not being able to take them. This is just a part of her character, but I think Nick is just trying to defend himself. I think he wants something a little more lighthearted, not one where he has to constantly duke it out. Taryn

Woooo Hannahs brother confirming that Hannah is indeed like this all the time was interesting to me. Ive never seen a sibling on this show so casually call out their family members pattern of bad behavior like that. Its kind of like Hannahs brother was saying, Run, Nick. RuUUuUuuUn!

And I agree, these two mean-spirited jokes are just thinly veiled contempt. Theres very little sweetness between these two. Elyse

Hannahs brother gagged me, but it was nice to see someone call her on her B.S. and she just had to eat it. That definitely felt like a subtle warning to Nick. Njera

First of all, I didnt know what was happening in this scene because the producers decided to open with a tear-filled conversation between Taylor and Monica with Stephen lurking in the background. We have no context and dont know what happened, yet we find out something foul happened during Stephens sleep test which still didnt make sense when they finally revealed more details. Im still just as confused about the entire situation, but I cant say Im entirely surprised that Stephen turned out to be a pig. His constant talking about sex at inappropriate times shouldve been a big clue.

Ill never understand why men like this come on Love Is Blind knowing theyre not actually looking for love. Feels like a big waste of time for Stephen, Monica, the producers, and us for having to follow this couple who never had a shot in hell at saying \"I do.\" I hope we get a more thorough explanation of this fiasco at the reunion because that final scene in Episode 8 gave me more questions than answers. Njera

Freaky ass Stephen, he a 69 god. Drunk sexting at a sleep test though? I just dont believe that at all. He reminds me of Trevor from the last season. Over-promising and under-delivering in a gross and disappointing way.

And I agree, Njera. I wouldve preferred for the producers to follow Leo and Brittanys story instead and I despise him. Taryn

If I could insert the video of that guy saying yous a freaky ass frog... Im glad Stephen got exposed and confronted by Monica on the show vs. on social media while the season aired. Im sure the Love Is Blind producers are happy they caught this moment on camera, too. Njera

I was so confused by this whole scene and I agree, Taryn, the producers need to stop with this confusing, nonlinear storytelling when drama goes down. This is not Memento, this is Love is Blind be straightforward! I watch this show so my brain gets all mushy and dumb, and not to try to figure out what the hell is going on by starting a scene in the middle of a conversation and revealing bad context clues to figure out what the hell happened.

I did laugh a bit with Stephens cameo in this scene, however, when he comes into the kitchen while everyones soothing an upset Monica to chug from a liquor bottle and go back to his room. What a loser. Elyse

My first thought when Ashleys father popped up: He fine as hell! He seems like one of those super chill dads who doesnt meddle in her life too much, which makes sense since Ashley seems pretty solid in what she wants and who she is. Looking back at Tylers meeting with her dad, its comical that he straight up said hed never lie to her when we know well, hes been doing that all along. I wonder what Ashleys dad had to say when he found out about Tylers secret. Njera

Ashleys dad looks like he can and will whoop Tylers ass. I hope that happens. Taryn

Absolutely, I hope so, too! Njera

I find the maturity interactions between Hannah and Nick really entertaining, personally. Nick is a sweet guy and seems more emotionally mature than Hannah, but Hannah seems way more capable of the more pragmatic aspects of adulting. Hannah confronting Nick about finances was TV gold considering how clueless he was. I also very much enjoyed the scene where Hannah basically teaches Nick how to boil water for pasta. When she asked him to get the pasta and he looked inside the fridge, I bursted out laughing. Buddy, unless youre eating premade ravioli or tortellini, thats not where dry pasta goes.

I do fear that Nick may be playing the weaponized incompetence game a bit because hes used to his mommy doing a lot of labor for him, but I do feel like Hannah is kind of mean to Nick when she finds out hes completely incapable of doing something pretty basic. I wish she would extend him a little more kindness and patience, and get off his back a bit. Hannahs got a lot of anxiety, which is weird because her parents seemed so lovely and laid back. I wonder if Hannah is all bent out of shape and stressed out about Nick because shes unsure if she really wants to marry this guy. Elyse

Nick is absolutely more mature than Hannah, Elyse! Every time Hannah brings up Nicks maturity or what he cant do, its a huge red flag. She assumes so much of him by way of projecting not only her own insecurities, but her own misconceptions about how life is supposed to work.

Its true that Nick has been coddled a bit more than Hannah, but theres a way to communicate your hesitations pre-wedding without belittling your partner. Nick is better than me, because he shouldve pulled a Tim but saw it all the way through in my opinion. He must really love that girl. Taryn

Its really cringe whenever I see people in relationships treat their partner like their child, and thats exactly the kind of dynamic Hannah and Nick have. On one hand, Im glad Hannah did what most Love Is Blind couples wait to do until the last minute, and thats discuss finances and the logistics of a partnership. But the way she approached that conversation with Nick was all wrong. She makes it sound like hes incapable of doing basic things around the house unless she asks (doesnt seem like she gives him a chance to try and take initiative), and talks down on him when hes clueless about things like cooking and stocks.

For someone who claims to be the more mature one out of the two, Hannah is too set in her ways to be an open-minded adult. I agree, she does a lot of projecting onto Nick, and seems like shes basing what their roles should be on societys fixed idea of a marriage instead of her own beliefs. Itd be nice if she seemed more receptive to hearing Nick out and taking into account what he wants for their relationship, too, rather than barking orders.

I truly dont know why Nick tolerates being talked to like that because I wouldve been out the door by now. I have a feeling hes going to save all this passive energy for the altar and say no to Hannah, but maybe hes sticking it out at this point to prove Love Is Blind, even to red flags. Njera

Yeah, I mean, Hannah definitely strikes me as the kind of person who is just trying to tick off marriage on her What You Do in Life checklist. Elyse

I thought Tim reading Alexs dad the same letter he used to propose to her (addressed to him) was a very sentimental gesture. And it couldve been even sweeter if I believed they were going to last. Taryn

I was so conflicted about Tim reading Alexs dad his letter because while the gesture was extremely moving, Im not sure he still believes in those words post-pods. Again, this feels like another instance where hes holding on to what they established before they saw each other in person and got to see each others quirks and flaws up close. If I truly thought they had a shot at making it to the altar, Alexs dads blessing on the marriage wouldve been much more heartwarming. However, I feel like this is just setting them up for a big let-down. Godspeed if Alex and Tim actually prove us wrong. Njera

Its kind of wild that Nicks mom said Hannah exceeded her expectations because if she only knew how shes been treating her son. On top of Nicks dad saying Hannah is everything Nick said she was, it feels like they dont have an honest assessment of Nick and Hannahs relationship because they only got to see the good parts. Njera

Hannah was smart bringing those thoughtful gifts to Nicks parents, because she had them wrapped around her finger from the jump! Her behavior with both of them was so performative and not indicative of how she really is with their son whatsoever. There was a moment during this scene where I felt like, maybe, just maybe, Hannah and Nick could be a good couple. But then I realized I felt that way because I had too many glasses of wine. Mrs. Dorka will likely not invite Hannah back over to eat her delicious ropa vieja again after watching this season. Elyse

And he's always crass in the way he talks about it, like have you no decorum?? I literally cringed when he started talking about women homewreckers who dont respect relationships and just wanna suck your dick when talking about comforting Garrett because how do those things relate out of context????? Hes gross, next. Njera

Every other scene or confessional hes in, Stephen has brought up sex. Him saying men get hard when the wind blows or viewing sex as the reward for giving flowers is an extremely juvenile perspective on sex. I blame our education system but hes 34 so I can only do that to a certain extent. It makes me wonder what their conversations like around sex in the pods. Taryn

Marissa and Ramses must have incredible sex because they are being straight-up delusional about their compatibility outside of the bedroom. Their talk about the military exemplifies that they have completely different values. Ramses expecting Marissa to eventually cut all ties with her military past and showing little empathy for her experience because he ideologically disagrees with it is not realistic. Her military experience is a core part of her identity, despite whether or not she agrees with it now. I just see these two becoming resentful of each other because they view life very differently. Elyse

This is the part where the chemistry gets thrown out the window and shit gets real. I knew this couple would get tested but the fundamental differences that just keep popping up look like Six Flags in a hail storm.

Marissa wasnt just in the Navy, she was raised on military bases and her community is made up of folks who have served. Ramses is an antimilitarist. He would divorce her if she returned to the military. Though shes currently in law school and doesnt currently have plans to return, like you said, Elyse, its a part of Marissas core identity. I really like these two on the surface, but it just doesnt make sense when you start going deep. And Marissa would know that if she didnt basically choose Ramses based on his astrology chart. Taryn

We all saw this coming. But to be honest, they needed this military conversation to really test the strength of their connection, because up until then, they were going purely off vibes. I agree with both of you, this is going to be a make-or-break problem for them because they have completely different values about Marissas military experience. I cant believe they didnt discuss this in-depth in the pods, especially when Ramses said Marissa going back to the Navy would be his reason for divorce. I also dont see how they get around this considering, like you both said, Marissas entire upbringing and community were built off her experience with the military.

Between this and their different religious beliefs, I feel like the deciding factor in these two making it to their \"I dos\" is going to come down to whether theyre willing to compromise on values, which doesnt seem likely. Njera

I feel like the opinions of Garretts family are going to play a big role in his decision at the altar based on their conversation with Taylor. They asked a lot of hard questions upfront, but Taylor handled them well and was very thoughtful in addressing their concerns about the fast-tracked timeline of their marriage. That being said, though, this seems like one of those situations where too many people are going to be weighing in on a decision that solely rests with Taylor and Garrett. I hope that doesnt interfere with how they feel about their approaching wedding day, but I can see Garrett having second thoughts when he considers how his family feels. Njera

I feel like Taylor delivered a master class in how to deal with difficult conversations with in-laws. I also loved how Garrett was holding and stroking her arm throughout her entire speech about how she knows this process is weird, and she has no idea where its going to go, but she loves and cares about their son. Elyse

Yall both put it perfectly. I was really impressed with how Taylor handled their questions and how Garrett supported her during. The conversations Monica and Garrett are having this season really illuminate how much this decision impacts not just the couple, but their families and communities, too. Taryn

Elyse

Monica had every right to bring up Stephens lack of romantic gestures, but I feel like shes the kind of person who expresses her needs in confusing ways. She was really fixated on him getting her FLOWERS. But theres plenty of other and more intimate and personalized ways of expressing romance outside of a very generic love signifier. But I suppose that a bunch of pretty dead plants is what really gets her motor revving? I wish Monica expressed her need for more romance by giving Stephen other examples, but alas, she just wanted flowers, I guess? She did seem to really appreciate that dried flower craft date he took her on. Although, I couldnt help but laugh when she got salty that the woman who led the craft preferred Stephens design over hers. I kind of feel like Monica is a bit demanding, and maybe Stephen was getting a little burnt out by it. Elyse

As soon as Monica confronted Stephen about failing to get her the flowers he promised her in the pods, he looked like he was ready to bounce. Which is why, I think, he said he was nervous and overwhelmed about his decision at the altar in a few weeks.

These two want different things. They arent compatible. Period. Yes, Monica is demanding, but she wants what she wants. And Stephen doesnt seem to fully know how to show up the way she wants him to. Hell, Stephen cant even properly read the room enough to know when to not bring up Love Is Blind groupies trying to suck his dick while his fiance is asking for romance. (Another reason why he crashes out later on). And instead of Monica being real with herself and admitting that she just isnt that into him, she scrunches her face and forces out an I love you every time he annoys her. It feels desperate. Taryn

The way Monica brought up Stephens lack of romantic gestures told me everything I needed to know about how she really feels about that man. She flat-out doesnt like him! We saw it in the first batch of episodes when she would shut him down for being too chatty and basically bossing him around. The flowers she damn near demanded didnt feel like something she wanted from Stephen to show how much he loves her. It seemed more like a relationship requirement she wasnt willing to budge on. Like Elyse said, there are plenty of other ways he couldve expressed his love, but fixating on the flowers was just another way for Monica to nitpick at him. Its almost like shes giving him tests she knows hell fail so she can keep the upper hand in their relationship.

I dont understand why she cant just be real and say she doesnt really want to be with him because its written all over her face every time Stephen opens his mouth. Njera

We still dont know exactly what happened between Alex and Tim. But the way they ended it, I was shocked to see them still together and willing to go on their adventure. I assumed that tension would still be lingering too much for them to actually enjoy it.

Im glad they found common ground and decided to make the best out of their honeymoon, but I just dont see how you can genuinely start fresh after a near relationship-ending argument that sounded borderline abusive, judging from the clues were putting together. After that, Im convinced they should just call it quits because it feels like a blow up like that is bound to happen again. Taryn

I was surprised to see how quickly Alex and Tim bounced back from whatever mysterious argument they had in Cabo, too. The way Alex was tip-toeing around Tim the next day, they both seemed like they were ready for that to be their breakup. But somehow, they found a way to salvage the trip and still be on good terms when they got back to D.C.

I still dont have a ton of faith in their connection because I dont think theyve figured out whether their personalities clash too much or complement each other. Even the way they keep their places Tim being extremely organized vs. Alexs explosive mess says theyre complete opposites who may not pair well in a marriage.

To your point, Taryn, I feel like theyre both trying to start fresh because theyre trying to hold onto the spark and emotional connection they established in the pods. However, seeing the way they handled their first fight, which nearly ended their engagement, it seems like theyre both ignoring big red flags that are going to become a problem sooner or later. Njera

Agree with both of you! But, selfishly, Im glad they stuck it out because I didnt know how much I needed to see Alexs apartment. Elyse

We Have A Bone To Pick With The 'Love Is Blind' Producers And Netflix

Elyse
