Women make up just 10 percent of the world's billionaires , but their ranks are steadily growing -- at least in certain countries.

According to The Independent , China is the country with the largest number of billionaire women in the world by a landslide.

The Independent pulled data from the "Hurun Richest Self-Made Women in the World" report , which says that 49 of the world's 73 self-made richest women are from China. The U.S. came in second place with 15 female billionaires, and the U.K. was a distant third with three.
