A San Francisco politician shot down a Fox News reporter who tried interviewing him on camera near his City Hall office. In the process, he came up with a potential alternative to the news channel's official slogan.

"Fox News is not real news and you're not a reporter," said Scott Wiener, a Democrat on the city Board of Supervisors. "I talk to real news only and Fox News is not real news."

The video aired Tuesday on Bill O'Reilly's show and a clip can be seen below. Fox News wanted to get Wiener's reaction about the recent fatal shooting of Kathryn Steinle in the city, allegedly by a man who was in the country illegally. The reporter asked if Wiener "showed remorse or if you're upset that the president didn't reach out to the families?"

The reporter and cameraman trailed Wiener through the halls, but Wiener kept moving. Once more, over his shoulder, Wiener told them his opinion of their organization.

"Fox News is not real news," he said before entering his office.

Steinle's death has been grist for conservative personalities such as O'Reilly and GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump to denounce San Francisco's immigration policy. The suspect in Steinle's death, Juan Francisco Lopez-Sanchez, has been deported five times and federal authorities wanted to detain him, but city law prohibits local authorities from holding anyone solely on the basis of whether they're in the country legally.
