Say goodbye to another "Grey's Anatomy" favorite.

After 10 seasons, Sara Ramirez, who plays Dr. Callie Torres on the long-running ABC series, has decided to move on. The actress took to Twitter to share the news of her departure , saying that she's "taking some welcome time off."

"Grey's Anatomy" creator, writer and showrunner Shonda Rhimes shared her own statement on Ramirez's exit , posting on Twitter, "Dr. Callie Torres came into our lives dancing it out in her underwear almost a decade ago, and I could not be happier or more proud of her journey. Sara Ramirezs performance inspired me as well as millions of fans each week. We wish her the best on her well-deserved time off. I will miss Callie tremendously, but am excited for what the future holds for Sara. She will always have a home at Shondaland."

On Thursday night's Season 12 finale, Callie mended her relationship with her ex-wife, Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw), regained custody of their daughter and seemingly would make plans to head to New York to be with her estranged girlfriend, Penny Blake (Samantha Sloyan).

Ramirez's exit from the show follows Patrick Dempsey's heartbreaking goodbye last season and Sandra Oh's in Season 10. As for longtime stars Ellen Pompeo, Justin Chambers, Chandra Wilson, James Pickens Jr. and Kevin McKidd, they are currently renegotiating their contracts for Season 13 .

Although the news is sad, Ramirez did prep fans . Last month, she tweeted about her last day on the set of Season 12, but it most definitely felt like a goodbye.
