Taylor Swift has made a sizable donation to those affected by recent devastating hurricanes in the Southeast.

As Hurricane Milton barreled toward Floridas Gulf Coast, the Cruel Summer singer, according to Feeding America CEO Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, made a generous $5 million donation for relief efforts.

Were incredibly grateful to Taylor Swift, she wrote Wednesday on Instagram , adding: This contribution will help communities rebuild and recover, providing essential food, clean water, and supplies to people affected by these devastating storms.

Babineaux-Fontenot continued, Together, we can make a real impact in supporting families as they navigate the challenges ahead. Thank you, Taylor, for standing with us in the movement to end hunger and for helping communities in need.

The region was still reeling from Hurricane Helenes devastation, which had caused disastrous flooding and killed more than 227 people across six states when it arrived in Florida two weeks prior to Milton making landfall Wednesday.

Milton has already left more than 3 million without power . The Category 3 storm has since reportedly left Florida and is continuing east into the Atlantic.
