The editorial board of the Rupert Murdoch-owned Wall Street Journal is urging readers to take heed of former Attorney General William Barrs warning about what would happen if former President Donald Trump wins a second term in the White House.

Barr, who quit Trumps administration amid the then-presidents repeated lies about the 2020 election, last week described Trumps first term as a horror show. He predicted that if Trump wins the 2024 election, hell fail to deliver on conservative policies .

The Journals conservative editorial page wholeheartedly agreed.

The rebuttal from the Trump establishment will be to cite his first term, but that record supports Mr. Barrs point, the Journal wrote. We also agree with many of Mr. Trumps policies, and we backed them during his Presidency. But his most important policy victories were conventional GOP priorities delivered by people he now denounces as RINOs.

A fuller account of Mr. Trumps Presidency can wait for other days, but Mr. Barrs warning is one that GOP voters deserve to hear, the paper added. Republicans have to decide if they want to let Democrats make their nominating choice for them, while ignoring Mr. Barrs warning about the policy risks of a second Trump term.
