WASHINGTON The nations capital was a sea of pink Saturday as women and many men from all over the country streamed into the city to speak out as an opposition force the day after Donald Trump was inaugurated as the 45th president.

Hundreds of thousands of people many wearing pink pussyhats turned out for the Womens March on Washington, with more joining hundreds of sister demonstrations around the world. Organizers said Saturday morning that they expected half a million people to attend the D.C. march, double their initial estimate.
