Christie Matherne

A Louisiana native based in the Denver area, Christie Matherne often covers the kitchen sink, where food, culture, history, tradition, and social issues converge and get stuck in the drain. Her curiosity has taken her down the Mississippi River in a canoe, above a river of alligators in a hammock tent, into a bowling alley for 24 hours, and other beautiful, itchy places people don't willingly go. When not covering that stuff, she writes personal essays and letters to her friends. She enjoys gin & tonics, aged gouda, running, and a good porch.
