Its been 29 years since Whitney Houston went from Grammy-winning singer to movie star in The Bodyguard and now, Warner Bros. is hoping to find success with a reimagined take on that film.

Variety on Wednesday reported that the studio is developing a remake of the 1992 romantic drama, which also starred Kevin Costner. Matthew Lpez, the Tony-nominated playwright of Broadways The Inheritance , has been tapped to write the screenplay.

No casting has been announced yet. At this point, its unclear if the new version will feature musical performances.

The original Bodyguard follows actor and singer Rachel Marron (played by Houston), who begins receiving death threats from an unknown stalker. After a bomb explodes in Rachels dressing room, her manager seeks out former Secret Service agent Frank Farmer (Costner) to protect his clients safety.
