The US has extended a sanctions waiver allowing Iraq to continue to import Iranian gas and electricity.

Previously, such waivers were granted for 120 or 45 days.

But the periods have now been reduced to 30 days, in what some view as part of President Trump’s effort to raise pressure on Iran.

Al Jazeera’s Simona Foltyn reports from Baghdad.
