Sorry Everyone, But That Adele And Beyonc Collaboration Was Too Good To Be True

OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder has now revealed he was joking when he teased the track during an interview.

If you were in any need of further proof that we can’t have nice things, it turns out that supposed Adele and Beyoncé collaboration was too good to be true.

OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder has admitted he was joking when he said he’d teamed up with the pair on a new track .

Ryan sent fans into meltdown earlier this week, when in a red carpet interview, he said Adele and Beyoncé – both of whom have worked with him in the past – featured alongside Coldplay’s Chris Martin on a song the band have recorded for their new album.

After his comments were reported the world over, Ryan was forced to confess that this wasn’t actually on the cards after all.

Posting on his Instagram Story, he said: “Me, utilising ‘sarcasm’, ‘kidding’ and a ‘joke’ simultaneously: ’Ya, we have one song featuring Beyonce, Adele, and Chris Martin, but I don’t wanna talk about it or give too much away [sic].

“Come onnnnnnnnn people!!”

Sharing the sentiment of many fans when they heard about the collaboration, he added: “All that said – wouldn’t that be a [fire emoji] collab? I’d stream it.”

The rumoured track would have been the first sniff of new music from Adele we’d have had since the release of her third studio album 25 in 2015.

More recently, it is her private life that has been hitting the headlines, following news of her split from husband Simon Konecki.

After she announced their separation back in April, she filed for divorce earlier this month.

The Hello singer has since been – somewhat unexpectedly – linked to grime artist Skepta.

The Sun has suggested  the pair have been spending a lot of time together in recent months, following the breakdown of their respective relationships.
