Fleabag's Andrew Scott Teases New Project With Phoebe Waller-Bridge

"Exciting plans are afoot", the former Sherlock actor has revealed.

Fleabag actor Andrew Scott has teased that he and Phoebe Waller-Bridge are working together on a future project, insisting we haven’t seen the last of them on screen.

Already known for his roles in Sherlock and the James Bond film Spectre, Andrew won a legion of new fans earlier this year when he joined the cast of Fleabag as her new love interest, the Priest (aka… the Hot Priest ).

With the show now seemingly over for good, Andrew has teased that he and the show’s creator and star are already planning to team up once more.

He told ES Magazine : “We have plans to work together. She’s a total delight. I love her. We’ve got exciting plans afoot.”

In the lead-up to the second series of Fleabag, Andrew spoke to HuffPost UK about his existing relationship with Phoebe , revealing they’d already appeared in a play together before she chose him to join her award-winning sitcom for its second series.

“Phoebe and I were pals already, we did a play together about 10 years ago at the Soho Theatre in London,” he said at the time. “And so she gave me a call out of the blue last summer. I knew it was about Fleabag, and we went and had a big catch-up and a three-and-a-half-hour walk around Soho.

“She talked about the character and we talked about where we were in our lives, and what we thought about religion and love and all that kind of stuff, and the character that was forming in her mind. It was a very special, memorable day.

“And at the end, I was like, ‘yep, I’m going to get myself involved in that, I’d be delighted to’. I hadn’t seen the script but I love Phoebe so much and I obviously loved the first series enormously, along with everybody else. So I was delighted to sort of jump in.”

Last month, Phoebe and Andrew made headlines when they were pictured together at the GQ Men Of The Year awards, where she presented him with the Stand-Out Performance prize for his role in Fleabag.

Andrew actually dedicated his win to Phoebe , saying in his acceptance speech: “I think like all great artists, she’s incredibly. She wrote this male character with a huge amount of protectiveness and complexity and sensitivity.

“When we first talked about doing Fleabag together we wanted to talk about the extraordinary way love manifests itself in the world, and I’m just so thrilled that the world has been able to see Phoebe’s qualities.”

He also said he hopes their friendship continues “for the rest of our lives because I love you so much”.
