With the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne release date of September 6, heres what you need to know about the game including its price, download size, and editions.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne  is the massive expansion set to arrive little over a week for PS4 and Xbox One owners of Monster Hunter World. Monster Hunter World is Capcom’s best selling game of all time and they promise an expansion that rivals the base game in terms of content. If you’ve played earlier Monster Hunter games that released in the West in recent years, you know that the West sees the “Ultimate” versions of games which includes G Rank.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne brings Master Rank which is the equivalent to G Rank for Monster Hunter World. Capcom also says that the story for Monster Hunter World concludes with Iceborne. If you’ve been playing Monster Hunter World or are new to the franchise in general, here is everything you need to know before you buy Monster Hunter World: Iceborne.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne releases on September 6 for PS4 and Xbox One. It releases in January 2020 for PC.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne platforms

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is releasing on the same platforms as Monster Hunter World. It releases first on PS4 and Xbox One. 

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne download size

As revealed in the official patch notes  for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, the download size for the patch is expected to be 33GB on PS4 and 31GB on Xbox One.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne gameplay changes

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne has changes for all weapons but the real highlights to core gameplay include the slinger and clutch claw mechanics. In addition to those, the multiplayer scaling is great since there is an all new 2 player scaling and the game will scale up or down dynamically depending on players joining and leaving your quest. The base game had a single multiplayer scaling which meant 2 people end up hunting a monster balanced for 4 people. 

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne India price

There are two digital editions for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. If you already own, Monster Hunter World, you need to buy one of the two digital expansion releases that are available for pre-order now. The Monster Hunter World: Iceborne standard edition price is Rs. 3,000  on Xbox One and Rs. 2,997  on PS4. The Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Digital Deluxe edition that includes some cosmetics is priced at Rs. 3,750  on Xbox One and Rs. 3,746  on PS4. It is worth noting that on PS4, you need to match your game region to the DLC. While some games support DLC from other regions, it is better to ensure you buy DLC from the same region you own the base game in including a disc release.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne editions

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is available as an expansion in a standard and Digital Deluxe variant. There is also a release that includes the base Monster Hunter World game called the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Master Edition.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne physical release

In India, the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Master Edition release is exclusive to PS4 while other regions covered by Capcom Europe have a release on Xbox One as well. This release includes Monster Hunter World and Monster Hunter World: Iceborne on disc and a SteelBook. This is available for Rs. 3,499 on PS4 in India and costs £50 in the UK.

All digital pre-orders of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne include the Yukumo Layered Armor Set.

Capcom claims the expansion will mirror the amount of content in the base game so expect a very hefty package here. The base game’s story took about 45 to 50 hours to complete without doing much extra.

Can owners of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne play with those who just own Monster Hunter World?

Yes, all Monster Hunter World players on the same platform will be able to play together regardless of owning Iceborne after downloading the big patch that releases once Iceborne is available.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne final beta date

There will be one last beta  for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. This one will include the elder dragon Velkhana and the same quests as the earlier beta. Read my impresions of the beta here .   • PlayStation 4: August 30 to September 1
  • Xbox One: September 2 to September 5
