A temporary court has been set up at AIIMS in Delhi to record the Unnao rape survivor’s statement starting Wednesday.

Expelled BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar, who is accused in the case, and a judge are at AIIMS for the survivor’s statement, PTI reported.

The woman had allegedly been raped by Sengar in 2017 when she was a minor.

On Monday, a Delhi court framed charges against Sharadveer Singh, an “associate” of Sengar, for allegedly implicating the survivor’s father in a false case of possessing illegal firearms and murdering him while in judicial custody.

The court had previously framed charges against the MLA, who represents Bangermau in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly.

Singh was arrested last year after CBI filed a supplementary charge sheet naming him as an accused in the rape case.

The Unnao survivor and her lawyer were airlifted to AIIMS in Delhi last month after they suffered critical injuries in a car accident on July 28 . The car they were travelling in was hit by a truck in Raebareli, killing her two aunts in the accident.

Her family alleged the accident was a conspiracy  to kill the survivor.

CBI took over probe into the case and booked over 10 people for murder, including Sengar, who was already in jail.
