Aparna Sen

Aparna Sen's comments come in the light of several law makers demanding that the accused, arrested on charges of raping and murdering a Hyderabad veterinarian, be lynched by a mob.
The sedition case had been lodged against nearly 50 celebrities, including filmmakers Shyam Benegal, Aparna Sen, Mani Ratnam, Anurag Kashyap and Adoor Gopalakrishnan.
Prakash Javadekar denied involvement of the Modi government in the sedition case and called it 'falsehood' by the 'tukde tukde' gang.
An FIR was filed on October 3 against 50 eminent persons, including Ramchandra Guha, Mani Ratnam, Adoor Gopalakrishnan and Aparna Sen, who had written an open letter to Modi, raising their concern over growing incidents of mob lynching.
The police said the FIR was lodged under sections of the Indian Penal Code, including those relating to sedition, public nuisance and hurting religious feelings.
"Criticising the ruling party does not imply criticising the nation," the letter, signed by Anurag Kashyap, Konkana Sen Sharma and others, said.
