The storm will still affect the coastal districts of Gujarat.
NDRF has deployed 40 teams and Indian Coast Guard has also deployed ships and aircraft to enable search and rescue post the landfall.
It would hit the coast near Veraval on Thursday morning. The Coast Guard, Army, Navy, Air Force and the Border Security Force have been put on high alert.
The cyclone is expected to make landfall in Gujarat on 13 June.
Vijay Rupani said the Army, NDRF, Coast Guard and other agencies have been roped in for rescue and relief work.
Cyclone Vayu will cross parallel to the coast of Mumbai before it hits Gujarat at midnight.
