Two weeks after a mob of masked intruders assaulted JNU students, the Army Welfare Placement Organisation has washed its hands of any responsibility for the grave security lapse.
The Delhi Police couldnt summon the courage to name the BJP-affiliated Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) even as they blamed the Leftist student unions for the January 5 violence in Jawaharlal Nehru University.
During the debate, she first identified the two men seen in the videos as members of the ABVP, saying she was not disowning them, but later backtracked.
JNUSU president Aishe Ghosh and 19 others have been charged by the Delhi police for "vandalism" and the perpetrators of Sunday's attack remain at large.
The Home Minister said students had raised "Bharat tere tukde honge" and they should be sent to jail, in an apparent reference to the 2016 sedition case against Kanhaiya Kumar.
Multiple students said they had locked themselves in their rooms to stay safe during the violence.
The JNUTA said that with full sense of responsibility, it accuses the JNU administration headed by the Vice-Chancellor of being responsible for the violence.
Students have alleged that the violence was carried out by the ABVP.
Rakesh Tyagi, who dressed in fake police clothes in the video, was later released on bail.
Meanwhile in Delhi, hundreds peacefully march from Mandi House to Jantar Mantar, protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act.
