An award-winning author and media executive, Amy DuBois Barnett has held senior leadership positions at Paramount, Hearst, Disney, and Time Inc. Barnett garnered national acclaim for her roles as editor-in-chief of Ebony, Teen People (where she became the first Black woman in the country to run a major mainstream magazine), Honey Magazine, and as deputy editor-in-chief of Harpers Bazaar. The author of the NAACP Image Award-nominated non-fiction book, Get Yours: How to Have Everything You Ever Dreamed of and More (Doubleday/Broadway Books), Barnett is currently at work on her first novel, Sugar, which Flatiron will publish in 2026.
