Amy Ralston Povah is a Clinton era clemency recipient who served 9 years of a 24-year sentence for "conspiracy" charges in a high profile MDMA (Ecstasy) case dating back to 1989. Post-release, Amy founded the non-profit, CAN-DO Foundation; Clemency for All Nonviolent Drug Offenders that advocates for justice through clemency. In 2010, Amy learned the art of filmmaking and became president of Harm Reduction Productions. Within four years she completed the award winning feature film, 420-The Documentary. Amy has written Op Eds for the New York Times, Fusion, San Francisco Chronicle, The Hill; spoken as a guest at numerous universities and on several nationally syndicated radio talk shows.
