Arian Hatefi

Dr. Arian Hatefi is a hospital-based physician who practices clinical medicine and researches health policy and stewardship, mostly focused at the global level. He was part of the team that modeled convergence for the Commission on Investing in Health's Global Health 2035 report, and has worked on the economics of national malaria elimination. More recently, he worked on a project to align global actors in addressing the key and emerging challenges of health system stewardship, with specific attention to the private sector. He additionally works on projects that focus on hospital stewardship and collective action for non-communicable diseases. Dr. Hatefi focuses his interests on designing global scale solutions to global health challenges and on improving health care performance. He has particular interest and expertise in global functions and public goods, improving health care value, priority setting and resource allocation, health in all policies, health diplomacy and security, and communicating the returns on investing in health globally. In addition, Dr. Hatefi is interested in medical education, particularly in professionalism and delivering compassionate care. He completed his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine at Emory University, his Master of International Healthcare Management, Economics, and Policy at SDA Bocconi, and completed his resident physician training at University of California San Francisco.
