Bron Taylor

Bron Taylor is an environmental studies professor whose research focuses on nature-human relations. His books include Dark Green Religion: Nature Spirituality and the Planetary Future, which examines the diverse forms and growing influence of what he calls spiritualities of belonging and connection to nature, illuminating how such spiritualities are being expressed and promoted environmentalists, surfers, artists, writers, filmmakers, politicians, scientists, and many others. More recently he released Avatar and Nature Spirituality. Taylor earned his Ph.D. from the University of Southern California and today is Professor of Religion, Nature and Environmental Ethics at the University of Florida, and also a Fellow at the Rachel Carson Center in Munich. He is also the editor of the Encyclopedia of Religion and Nature and the Journal for the Study of Religion, Nature and Culture, and has written or edited five books and dozens of articles. In demand as a speaker he has lectured in dozens of countries and in 2017, he was awarded a "lifetime achievement award" from the International Society for the Study of Religion, Nature and Culture.
