She is the author of five non-fiction books including the critically acclaimed memoir, Sin Boldly: A Field Guide for Grace , The God Factor: Inside the Spiritual Lives of Public People , The Dude Abides: The Gospel According to the Coen Brothers , and co-author of Disquiet Time: Rants and Reflections on the Good Book by the Skeptical, the Faithful, and a Few Rascals. . She is at work on a book examining the global popularity of Pope Francis and what it means spiritually, theologically, and culturally.
