Joseph Amodeo

Joseph Amodeo is a political scientist and nonprofit professional living and working in New York City. He serves as an executive for a nonprofit organization and as an Adjunct Lecturer of Political Science at St. Francis College in New York City where he teaches courses on urban politics and state and local government. Throughout his career, he has held various development and program positions with human service, health, and education nonprofits. In 2008, Joseph developed and planned an international summit on the HIV/AIDS and oral health, which led to one of the largest trainings ever for dental professionals related to the implementation of rapid HIV testing in the dental setting. Joseph graduated with a Master of Public Administration from Marist College as well as Master of Arts in political science and Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, in religious studies from the University at Albany. His academic research focuses on disAbility law and health policy. Joseph's writings and research have been featured in World Medical & Health Policy, The Tablet, The Advocate, The Evangelist and a number of other print and digital publications. Joseph has appeared on Huffington Post Live, BBC Radio, NPR, and Sirius XM Radio on a range of topics.
