Jennifer S. Hirsch, an anthropologist, is Professor of Sociomedical Sciences at Columbia's Mailman School of Public Health. She writes on public health, gender and sexuality, Judaism and social justice, the rights of agricultural workers, and a wide variety of other topics. Her work has appeared in Time, CNN, the Washington Post, and JewSchool, as well as in HuffPo. A member of Congregation B'Nai Jeshurun, she lives on the Upper West Side in New York City with her husband, their younger son, and the cats; they have another son in college.
