Kylie Patterson

Kylie Patterson is the Sr. Advisor for Local Economic Inclusion at Johns Hopkins University. In this role, she works to build Baltimore's economy through three key initiatives, HopkinsLocal, BLocal and Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program. These projects work to create jobs, and focus investments in minority and women owned businesses in Baltimore and the region. She formally served as the Senior Program Manager for the Racial Wealth Divide (RWD) team at Prosperity Now (formerly CFED). In this role, she worked to bridge best practices in program implementation to policy and research solutions, with the goal of decreasing income and wealth disparities in communities of color. Prior to joining Prosperity Now, she worked as a consultant and engagement manager for BCT Partners, a national, minority owned consulting firm. There, her portfolio included programmatic and financial assessments of Community Economic Development (CED) grantees for HHS, small business development in New Jerseys largest cities, program evaluation, philanthropic strategy design, and technical assistance. She also worked as the manager of the City of Minneapolis STEP-UP youth employment initiative; strategic development coordinator for EMERGE Community Development; and research associate for the Pew Center on the States. Furthering her commitment to community development, Ms. Patterson served on the board of the Essex County Workforce Investment Board (New Jersey). Ms. Patterson holds a Bachelor of Arts in African American Studies and Political Science from Temple University and Master of Public Policy from the University of Minnesota. She is also a Harry S Truman Scholar, Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) Fellow, and New Leaders Council Fellow.
