Fiction writer, critic and essayist

Rand Richards Cooper is the author of two works of fiction, The Last to Go and Big As Life. He has been Writer in Residence at Amherst and Emerson colleges, and his fiction has appeared in Harpers, GQ, Esquire, The Atlantic and many other magazines, and in Best American Short Stories. Rand lives in Connecticut, reviews restaurants for the New York Times and is Contributing Editor at Commonweal Magazine, where he writes a twice-weekly online column about politics, society and the arts.
