U.S. Representative for Louisiana's 2nd Congressional District

Congressman Cedric L. Richmond is the newly elected representative from the 2nd Congressional District of Louisiana. In Congress, Cedric serves on the Committee on Small Business and the Committee on Homeland Security. He is a results oriented public servant committed to fighting and winning for the Orleans and Jefferson Parishes of Louisiana.

Thus far in Congress, Mr. Richmond has been outspoken on dredging the lower Mississippi to increase trade and safeguard jobs. He's been vocal about the need to support small business owners and put more innovative, American products in stores. And he's been on the House Floor several times challenging the House to retain funding for veterans benefits, public education, and healthcare.

But Congressman Richmond is no stranger to serving his community through public service. He served in the Louisiana State Legislature for almost a decade. In fact, he was the Chairman of the House Committee on Judiciary.
