Terry O'Neill, a feminist attorney, professor and activist for social justice, served as president of NOW from 2009 to 2017. Under her leadership NOW adopted a new statement of purpose "to take action through intersectional grassroots activism to promote feminist ideals [and] lead societal change." She is currently working on a book, "The Future of the Women's Movement in the Era of Trump."
