Aaron Sorkin's HBO series about a cable news show got its official name on Monday. TVNewser reported that the series, which operated under the working title "More As This Story Develops," will be called "Newsroom."

HBO picked up Sorkin's pilot for a 10-episode series in September. The show will follow fictional cable news anchor Will McCallister, played by Jeff Daniels. McCallister will host the fictional news show "News Night," at the fictional cable network, UBS.

Sorkin followed then-MSNBC host Keith Olbermann while writing "Newsroom's" pilot episode. When Olbermann left MSNBC in January 2011, some speculated that he might contribute to Sorkin's new show by writing on-screen rants. It remains to be seen whether Olbermann will in fact contribute to "Newsroom."

This post has been updated to reflect that Jeff Daniels will play the role of Will McCallister.
