Amy's Baking Company Freaks Out Online After Epic Meltdown On Gordon Ramsay's 'Kitchen Nightmares' [UPDATED]

Delusional Restaurateurs Freak Out On Facebook
|

One has to wonder what possessed Amy and Samy Bouzaglo, the owners of Amy's Baking Company in Scottsdale, Ariz., to behave the way they did on last Friday's episode of "Kitchen Nightmares." It's saying something that host Gordon Ramsay comes off as the reasonable, even-keeled one.

The British chef walked off the program for the first time in the show's history, after the couple's antics and finger pointing proved unsurmountable challenges. Some of the more memorable moments: the couple pocketed the waitstaff's tips, admitted to firing more than 100 people, picked a fight with a customer who'd been waiting an hour for his pizza and served up pre-made frozen raviolis.

But topping them all are the recent comments posted to the Amy's Baking Company Facebook page , which, for lack of better words, are batshit insane. Enjoy:

Well, that's not very nice.

We'll stay over here, thanks very much. Oh, and here are those Yelp reviews and that Reddit thread .

You really mean it when it's written in all caps!

We don't think you understand how the internet works.

A jewel in the desert!

Amy (or Samy?), thy name is delusion.

The Huffington Post reached out to Amy's Baking Company, but the number given on the eatery's Facebook page went straight to a full voicemail box.

Check out more of craziness in the full "Kitchen Nightmares" episode below. Seriously, why did this couple ever agree to appear on the program?

UPDATE 5/15, 10:15 a.m.: The nasty posts have disappeared from Amy's Baking Company's Facebook page and the couple now claims the page has been hacked :

What do you make of the above non-apology? Seems a bit too convenient a scenario to us.

UPDATE 5/15, 2:30 p.m.: A second Facebook page purporting to be an official Amy's Baking Company page popped up yesterday , although The Huffington Post is unable to independently verify it as such.

The posts, though, are similar in tone to the ones that have since been removed from the original Facebook page:

Another Facebook page in support of Amy's Baking Company, aptly named "I support Amy's Baking Company Bakery Boutique & Bistro 100 percent," cropped up Wednesday. According to the posts, the page is supposedly not run by Amy and Samy Bouzaglo, although the tone is again strikingly similar to the two "official" Facebook pages. You be the judge.

UPDATE 5/15, 4:20 p.m.: The second "official" Facebook page for Amy's Baking Company is now down.

Local CBS affiliate KPHO, however, managed to get a few words out of owners Amy and Samy Bouzaglo when its cameras stopped by the Scottsdale restaurant on Tuesday. In the below video, Amy reiterates her claim that the restaurant's Facebook page was hacked before trying to shoo away a reporter.

"I'm not making those... Someone has hacked into our account," she said. "The FBI is involved, you're not allowed to film me, you're trespassing, please leave." Watch the video below:

UPDATE 5/16, 3:30 p.m.: The bakery has hired a PR firm and has plans for a sold-out reopening event on Tuesday. Read more here .
