Arianna Huffington: Barring Controversial Graduation Speakers Is 'Dangerous'

Arianna Huffington joined a panel Wednesday on "The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore" to discuss the phenomenon of prominent people being invited to give college commencement speeches -- and then disinvited. The panel included Nightly Show contributors Franchesca Ramsey and Ricky Velez and covered issues ranging from free speech to the fact that most disinvited speakers are conservatives (including former President George W. Bush, who leads the pack with seven disinvitations). 

When colleges bar speakers because of views considered controversial or offensive, Huffington said, “It actually creates something incredibly dangerous, because that’s the excuse that tyrants use.”
