Sadly, that's pretty much accurate.

A BBC commentator made a brief but apt remark during the news agency's coverage of Wednesday's shooting at a social services center in San Bernardino, California, calling the attack "just another day in the United States of America."

CNN 's Brian Stelter tweeted out  the clip below on Wednesday evening.

"Another day of gunfire, panic and fear," says the BBC commentator, whose identity is not clear. "This time in the city of San Bernardino in California, where a civic building was apparently under attack."

His remark represents the widely cited statistic that Wednesday's attack, which left at least 14 people dead, is the 355th mass shooting in the U.S. in 336 days .

The Huffington Post has reached out to the BBC and will update with any new information on the identity of the commentator.

Britain has some of the most stringent gun control laws in the world , established after acts of mass violence in the '80s and '90s. Many weapons allowed in America, including some semi-automatic guns that fire large-caliber bullets , have been banned in the United Kingdom.
