Not Your Average Beachy Waves At Creatures Of The Wind & Suno Spring 2014 Shows (PHOTOS)

We love it when we get to see hairstylists breathe new life into classic beauty trends for Fashion Week . And Odile Gilbert is most certainly the "Queen of Reinvention" (in our opinion).

For Creatures of the Wind and Suno 's Spring 2014 shows, the French stylist revamped beachy waves with subtle details that made this warm-weather hairstyle fresh and hip. Gilbert used a medium-barrel curling iron to fashion deep, loose waves. Then she applied Krastase Paris Powder Bluff (a texturizing dry shampoo) onto strands to recreate that lived-in, matte hair texture you get after spending a day at the shore.

Here's what separates the two runway beauty looks from the average beachy waves:

At Creatures of the Wind, Gilbert created a small braid at the base of the head, underneath the hair, then coiled and pinned the braid against the head to serve as a pin anchor. Next, a small piece of hair was taken from the right side of the head (right behind the ear), twisted and wrapped around the loose lengths to create a ponytail. A blast of Laque Dentelle hairspray helped to set the style.

At Suno, Gilbert took the front sections of the hair and pulled them back over the ears, tying underneath the length at the nape of the neck with a clear elastic to create a hair headband. Forme Fatale blow-dry gel was generously applied at the top of the head to give a wet/shiny finish.
