Here we are. Another day. Another dangerous decision (depending on who you talk to). Another day of me shaking my head and asking myself why? I woke up today to the news that President Trump is recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Crazy thing is, with all of the media reports and talk on twitter, I knew this moment was coming. So why do I still feel flabbergasted every time a new issue (or rumor) is confirmed?

Trump thinks this is a positive move in the peace process between Palestine and Israel. I have no idea who or what made him think this was an even remotely good decision. I also have a very bad feeling about this one.

Is it naive of me to think that having a US Embassy in Jerusalem could lead to innocent deaths and more attacks? I know for a fact, I wouldnt want to take the risk of working in that embassy. Furthermore, why doesnt the United States keep their nose out of certain issues involving the Middle East?

Its never a wise thing to make a decision knowing that it will spark anger, violence or possibly even war. Trumps announcement today will one hundred percent impact us in America. The passing of his latest travel ban on certain Muslim countries, and now this, will only trigger more hate and animosity towards the U.S. I fear the loss of confidence that our allies in the Middle East and abroad, are starting to lose in our nation.

The way to peace should never come at the price or expense of more violence, stoked hate, instability, or human casualties. So Mr. President, who will accept the blame and blood on their hands if the embassy in Jerusalem is attacked and lives are lost? Or better yet, if more war and fighting breaks out? I know you wont accept the responsibility and blame, but I can tell you right now, the majority of the world will have their eyes on you. Mr. President, you wont be able to put this one on President Obama or Clinton.
