The couple attended the premiere of their new film, "By the Sea," on Tuesday night looking more in love than ever -- quite the opposite of their on-screen characters, who struggle to keep their relationship together. The two held hands and smiled as they posed for photos outside the Directors Guild of America Theatre in New York.

Jolie opted for a pleated pale blue dress with long sleeves and a high neckline, which she paired with simple nude pumps. She looked gorgeous, as always. Pitt went for the business casual look with a tweed blazer, waistcoat and jeans. There was also a pair of blue-tinted glasses which we've yet to establish our firm opinion on ...

Earlier this week, the couple opened up about their relationship and Jolie's decision to undergo a double mastectomy and have her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed to avoid cancer.

During an interview with "Today," Pitt had nothing but praise for his wife, saying, "I just remember there was no vanity to my wife's approach . It was mature. 'This is our life, we're gonna make the best of it.' There was a strength in that. It's just another one of those things in life that makes you tighter. She was doing it for her kids, and she was doing it for her family, so we can be together. It trumped everything, everything and anything."
