Brooke McCarter, 'The Lost Boys' Actor, Dead At 52

His former co-star, Corey Feldman, expressed his condolences.

Brooke McCarter, known for his role as vampire Paul in 1987's "The Lost Boys," died on Tuesday. He was 52.  

The McCarter family posted a statement on the actor's Facebook page, saying he succumbed to a genetic liver condition called Alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency (AAt). 

According to the Mayo Clinic , AAt is inherited by both males and females equally, generally resulting in liver disease or lung disease and is sometimes associated with bronchiectasis and asthma.

McCarter, a former model, gained fame for his role in "The Lost Boys," starring alongside Corey Feldman, Kiefer Sutherland, Chance Michael Corbitt and Billy Wirth. He also starred in the '80s hits "Thrashin" and "Wired."
