Look who's got the holiday spirit!

Carla Bruni took a break from her drinking, smoking and caring for cute little Giulia to make her first official post-baby appearance. She celebrated Christmas early with her hubby, French president Nicolas Sarkozy -- and a slew of other people's children.

The French first lady, of course, has her own kid to worry about. Giulia came into the world on October 19 , the first child born to a sitting French president.

Since then Carla's been taking it easy, guarding Giulia while out on occasional walks and generally keeping herself out of sight.

But today she was all smiles, greeting French children at the Elysee presidential palace for a holiday party. She looked chic and relaxed, wearing skinny pants, a fringed, camel-colored poncho sweater and flat (natch) boots.

Our favorite part of Carla's yummy-mummy look: her hair! She's let it grow long and loose, perfect for her new laid-back, sweatpants-filled mommy existence.
