Remember when "American Idol" was relevant?

Back in those cultural days of lore, the show actually jump-started successful pop careers. Kelly Clarkson. Jennifer Hudson. Sort of, briefly, Justin Guarini. (Whose Twitter follow made this particular HuffPost Entertainment writer scream at her desk, screenshot the alert, and then tweet the screenshot of the alert with caption, "Some people wait a lifetime.")

And of course, one of the most thriving current vocalists to come out of the show is the one and only Carrie Underwood.

Though in some ways it feels like yesterday, it's actually been straight up ten years since the now famous star participated in the fourth season. (It was literally 2005! ) She was young, she loved Martina McBride, and she was very, very good at singing the karaoke staple, "I Can't Make You Love Me."

That voice, y'all.

These days, she's a little more accustomed to the stage.

As we prepare to say goodbye to "American Idol" forever (if you didn't already like seven years ago), we can all take solace in the fact that our favorite participants' auditions are still on the Internet. They're great for fangirling purposes, and also to like, remind ourselves of the power of hard work?

Carrie forever!
