Artists around the world took to Twitter and other social media sites to pay tribute to the 12 people killed in the attack on the Paris headquarters of French satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo. Editorial director Stphane Charbonnier, along with three other cartoonists, were among those killed on Wednesday.

Illustrators from big media organizations like Le Monde and The Washington Post, as well as independent artists, published cartoons expressing their sympathy and anger over the horrific attack. Many of the designers used only red and black in their drawings, as those are the official colors of the Charlie Hebdo magazine.
