Chelsea Handler Perfectly Points Out The Irony In Billy Bushs Firing

It’s been a little more than a week since a 2005 hot mic recording of Donald Trump  making extremely lewd comments about women to then-”Access Hollywood” host Billy Bush was leaked. 

Bush was suspended from his position as co-host of the “Today” show shortly after the tape went viral. Rumors of his permanent exit from NBC soon followed. The embattled “Today” show co-host is reportedly close to settling an exit package with NBC, while the Republican presidential nominee gets to continue his campaign. 

On Monday, comedian Chelsea Handler took to Twitter to point out the irony of the situation to anyone who didn’t fully comprehend it already.

The ironic thing is if you somehow missed it that apparently we hold our media personalities to a higher standard than the guy running for president. 

Trump can be heard on the tape telling Bush, “And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything ... Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything.” 

Those comments, which Trump brushed off as “locker room talk” when asked about them during the second presidential debate last week, have cost him the support  of some prominent Republicans . Nonetheless, he remains in the race, even after several women have come forward with allegations of sexual assault .  

To recap that, Bush was fired from his job, but Trump is still essentially interviewing for the biggest job in the U.S.
