Man Allegedly Tries To Rob A Chuck E. Cheese During His Own Job Interview

Needless to say, he didn't get the job.

He certainly made an impression.

Police say a man showed up for a job interview at a Chuck E. Cheese restaurant in Lexington, Kentucky, on Wednesday — and then tried to rob the joint .

Investigators say he'd first entered the eatery, located at the Woodhill Circle Plaza  shopping mall, earlier in the day to ask for a job application.

But when he returned at 4:20 p.m. for his interview, a Lexington Police Department statement says he "implied he had a firearm and stated he was there to rob it."

WTVQ reports that after the manager told him he didn't have access to the safe, the man apologized to employees and started crying. He then left the premises and remains at large.

Police posted surveillance images on Facebook (above) of the suspect , who they described as white, bearded, approximately 6 feet tall and 175 pounds.

Investigators are also now trying to determine whether the same man was involved in a second robbery , which took place just six hours later, at a nearby Dollar General store.

In that case, it's believed a similarly-described suspect hid in the store until it had closed before approaching the clerk and demanding money. He fled with an unspecified amount of cash.
